We assist families in the Medicaid/CHP+ application process, serving as a link between Aurora Public Schools and the Health First Colorado (Medicaid) program.

We are a Certified Presumptive Eligibility site, which allows us to immediately process emergency applications for temporary coverage.

These are some services provided by our Medicaid Family Liaisons:

  • One on one appointment at your kids school to complete a Medicaid / CHP plus application
  • Help with redetermination or re-application
  • Help with additional resources such as dental services, eye exams and food assistance

What is Health First Colorado (Medicaid)?

Health First Colorado is the name for the state’s Medicaid program. It provides free or low-cost health insurance to qualified families. Eligibility is determined based on income and resources. County Departments of Human Services determine eligibility. Medicaid is automatic for people who have Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or participate in the Colorado Works Program (TANF).

What is CHP+?

CHP+ is a low-cost health insurance for children of families that earn income too high for Medicaid but cannot afford private insurance. Some families may still need to pay a small fee each year and minimal co-payment for each doctor visit or prescription medicine.

If you and your kids are eligible for the Medicaid, some of benefits are:

  • Check-ups
  • Hospital visits
  • Prescriptions
  • Dental services
  • Vision care and much more.
