Student Travel:

International Travel: Due to the increase in Worldwide COVID cases, LT has made a decision that no international travel will be allowed for the remainder of the 21-22 school year. This is unfortunate; however, we all knew this was a possibility if COVID cases increased, as mentioned in prior communications. Please communicate to the families that APS made this decision in the best interest of the students and staff's safety and well-being.

Therefore, all international trips that are currently scheduled for travel prior to June 30, 2022 need to be canceled or rescheduled. No additional international trips can be scheduled for this 21-22 school year.

At this time, domestic trips remain good to go. That includes all U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico.

Domestic Travel is not allowed until January 2022. We know there are some trips being scheduled for spring of 2022. Please be sure to continue to communicate with families that if COVID spikes in the region in which they are traveling, or here at home, that the trip may have to be canceled. Please be sure to always reference the government travel site prior to making any travel plans. Below is a link to that site. In addition, please encourage families to purchase travel insurance that is offered on all travel.

In-state student travel/field trips will be allowed as of the start of the school year 2021 - 2022. For all field trips not having an overnight stay, please follow APS policy IJOA.

All in state overnight travel will be subject to CHSAA guidelines, where applicable. For overnight trips, please follow the APS policy JJH for student overnight travel.

Staff travel:

Professional Development (Conferences) are allowed as of May 17, 2021. We require that when scheduling your trip to purchase tickets that allow a full refund. If that option is not taken and you had an option, then you will be required to reimburse the District. For hotels, please look at their cancellation policies prior to scheduling your room and be sure to take whatever options provide 100% refund.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Risk Management. Thank you.
